Since we felt that it was possible to build and market a good quality yet affordable recumbent.

RaptoBike was started on January first 2006.

Waar komt de naam RaptoBike vandaan?
RaptoBike has no official meaning. Rapto comes from latin and means 'to snatch or hurry away', bike comes from well you probably guessed already.

Is ligfietsen eigenlijk wel leuk?
Ja!

Can I order a RaptoBike from anywhere in the world?
Yes! We'll ship bikes to most places in the world. If you create an account in our webshop you can even see the shipping cost before you place your order.

Why do your prices change when I logon?
The price includes 19% VAT by default as this is obliged in the Netherlands when offering products to consumers. When you logon and use a shipping address outside of the European Union we do not have to charge VAT, so the price becomes lower.

What about other fees?
Your local customs will probably charge import duties and possibly other charges. Please check with them before ordering!

Do you sell frame kits?
Yes, we sell frame kits for our bikes.

Will you ship these kits and if so what are the cost for shipping the kit to my location?
Yes we ship kits to anywhere in the world. Since kit boxes are much smaller than boxes for complete bikes, the shipping is more affordable. When you select the frame kit in the webshop we will give you a quote for shipping it before you have to confirm your order. Shipping to the US is around 100 euro, shipping to Germany is around 40 euro.

What is the default gearing for the Low Racer?
The default setup is a 60t single blade with an 11-32 cassette. Together with the 175mm cranks and the 20" wheel this gives a nice range in gears.

Can I change the default setup?
Yes, we offer multiple options direct from the factory for our new bikes. The components are all standard bike components. This means that most bicycle shops will stock spare or recplacement parts.
